Welcome / Shalom
I am available to officiate at various Jewish lifecycle events either here in the seacoast New Hampshire area or throughout New England and beyond!
About
I studied at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Seminary in Philadelphia from 1980 to 1985. Upon completion of my Rabbinic studies, I returned to my native New England to work in various Jewish settings. I was a congregational Rabbi for nine years in Keene, NH where I taught a Jewish History class at Keene State College. I moved to Bangor, Maine where I worked at the University of Maine in Orono as the Hillel Rabbinic facilitator, continued teaching a Jewish History class and wrote articles for the religion section for the Bangor Daily News (some of those articles are included below). I presently live in Greenland, New Hampshire, outside of Portsmouth. I was the Rabbi at the Portsmouth synagogue for four years.
I am a progressive Rabbi with traditional roots. I have branched out as a flexible man who embraces the variety and diversity of people and of life. I look forward to talking with you and being available to assist you in meeting your concerns and helping you with services and life cycle events.
SERVICES
I am available to facilitate lifecycle events. That includes:
Baby Naming Ceremonies - welcoming your new born child into the Jewish community.
Bar/Bat-Mitzvahs - teaching your child to chant prayers, read from the Torah, chant Haftarah, learn Hebrew and learn more about our Jewish heritage.
Weddings and Intermarriage Ceremonies - facilitating your wedding ceremony and working with you to create a meaningful and personal ceremony. You could even have your wedding here, in our home, by the shore of beautiful Great Bay.
Funerals - memorial services, burials, cremated remains and bereavement counselling and help.
